I can attest to the other review and state that this is the worst moving experience I have had in my military career. Our stuff was packed the 22nd of May and shipped from Hawaii on 28 May. It just now "arrived" at Fort Knox on 16 July. We had friends who packed out a week later than us, and received their stuff 3 weeks before us. Different movers, better results. Besides this, there was no coordination or effort on the movers part to contact us or notify us. When I called Dyer and Sons and spoke to an agent, the only thing they could tell me was that it shipped from Hawaii on 28 May and they no longer had any visibility of the shipment. They are the true meaning of a "fire and forget" organization and I would highly recommend to anyone to ask for another moving company to avoid having to live out of a suitcase for an extended period of time.
The absolute worst experience I've never had the displeasure of experiencing. The lady that sets up the move called me at 2pm on a Friday while I was at work and left a message and said that I have until 2:30pm to confirm my delivery date of the following Monday (they are closed on the weekends). So I call Monday as soon as they open and she tells me they are moving my things into storage. I voiced my displeasure (very respectfully) saying that she only have me 30 mins to confirm the delivery. Which is when she caught an attitude and acted as if 30 mins was plenty of time. She then told me she would call back by the end of the day which she did not even after I called 2 more times talking to different employees each time. Then called back the next day to just be told the same thing. Then was finally called back right before they closed at 4pm to tell me the only opening they had was the next day. My boss was very happy when I told him on such short notice that I had to miss work due to this company lack of planning and organization. Moral of the story if you can go through ANYONE ELSE do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.
I haven't had my things delivered yet, but that's why I'm writing this review. I'm military and moved to the island on the government's dime, so I have had no direct dealings with M. Dyers yet. Unfortunately the military side told me that they would call me to set up a delivery date, so my wife, son and I have been waiting patiently for their call. I happened to check my email today and found that they sent me an email giving me 3 hours to respond if I wanted to have my things delivered two days later. The email was dated 6 days ago. I feel that it is very unprofessional not only to put a time limit on a response to an email, but also not to give me and my family the courtesy of a phone call. Not everyone lives on their computer and I don't feel like they gave me a fair chance to make my move a smooth one. I have given two stars instead of one because I have yet to see how they will work this out with me. I hope I can give them a better rating later.
Ran over the neighbors mailbox; used my mattress as a seat outside and uncovered and damaged almost all of my furniture. Definitely do not recommend. Workers at the house kept making deragatory jokes and did not wait to inventory items before bringing them in the house. Broke the seals on a crate without anyone present followed by unloading it and left it in the driveway / street unatended for me to find. Missing 20 plus boxes from my move. Woman at the call desk was combative in regards to fixing neighbors mailbox and the door frame to the entrance to the house.
Excellent moving company! Highly recommend!
